DR. MARK GILLYON

Dr. Mark Gillyon graduated from Massey University in 2000 and went on to intern at the Sydney Animal Referral Hospital, gaining additional training in Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) and soft tissue surgery. With a keen interest in neurology, Dr. Gillyon has pursued further certification in neurology, dermatology, clinical pathology, and ECC. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Science and Technology, with master’s level coursework in surgery and ECC, focusing on soft tissue surgery. Additionally, Dr. Gillyon has a BSc in Physiology and Biochemistry and a Diploma with distinction in advanced biochemistry. Skilled in performing basic emergency ultrasound, Dr. Gillyon will be enhancing his expertise with further internal medicine and ultrasound training in 2025.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Gillyon is a devoted family man. He is married to an English teacher and is a proud father of a beautiful six-year-old daughter. The family also includes Willis, their 16-year-old cat with a lot of personality. When he’s not at work, you can find Dr. Gillyon playing guitar in bands or enjoying sports like football, rugby, golf, and tennis.
